So I'm pretty stoked about our show in Houston Friday night @ Fitzgerald's. We got moved to the upstairs main stage, and we're headlining...SSP is about to blast a hole in that town :).
CD Process: waiting on artwork...then it's time to get come copies made.
May 14th is my Bday show...getting pumped up for that. I was born on Mother's Day 1981 and have slowed down since. In the words of Keef, "Making life Hell since 1981!"
So be sure to grab some friends and come on down to the Fly...5/14 doors @ 8pm SSP @ 11pm.
Let's see what else is going on...going this weekend to watch Nashville Pu$$y @ Red Eyed Fly, that should be a blast, we saw them with Motorhead back in February.
They are also playing with Green Jelly, the band that sang, "3 Little pigs!"
Check that shit out!!
Big weekend for SSP....Friday in Houston, and Saturday marks the beginning of our start with our Manager...so I'm anxious to see how that goes...
"Not by the hair on my chinny chin chin!"

Lonesome, On'ry and Mean
“There’s two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down. You got your talkers and you got your doers. most people are just talkers, all they do is talk. but when it is all said and done, it's the doers that change this world. and when they do that, they change us, and that's why we never forget them. so which one are you? do you just talk about it, or do you stand up and do something about it? because believe you me, all the rest of it is just coffee house and bullshit.”
I stole that quote from Boondock Saints II, which despite what a lot of other people think, I thought was really awesome. I mean, where else would hear the following:
“Who ordered the Whoop Ass Fajitas!!!” That literally had me laughing out loud…no need for LOL…
But I really like that quote, I think that’s completely true, so many people talk a big game, and act like they got all the answers; however it’s the ones that get shit done. I proved I was more than hot air when I packed my car and left my entire family and friends 1200 miles away to come to beautiful Austin TX to chase that Neon Rainbow. And I must say, I’m not regretting it one bit!!
If you’ve been bored enough to keep up with my blogs, you will know that SSP has a lot going on right now. We have finished recording our second album, “9 Kinds of Bad” and am in the process of laying out the artwork and working on the duplication process. The Album will have 12 songs on it including 4 from our previous album, ‘Get Bit!’: Alcohol of Fame, Moonshine Shake, Outta Control, and Rock n Roll Pain Train. We picked these songs, because we felt they deserved more justice, and wanted to see how they came out at Sugar Hill. I must say, they are PIMP!!
So…we just completed our “The Making of 9 Kind’s of Bad” and here it is for your viewing pleasure:
We have also come upon a very Awesome Opportunity to work with a Stellar Manager, but will give you more info on that as it comes…tentatively this will go into effect May 1. So…mark it down…you heard it here first…it’s about to hit the fan. In a very good way.
So that’s the haps…as always I enjoy you checking this out…but for now, “Don’t let the door hit ya where the Good Lord split ya”

Blind in Texas!!
Well ladies and gentlemen...the SSP train is pumping harder than the hounds of hell!! We played San Marcos Saturday night with some killer bands, had a killer crowd and a killer time....enough on the killer.
This weekend we travel to Arlington, haven't been there in a while...last time we were in Arlington, we had to provide door guys....and didn't have any...so we got our 2 blonde merch girls to work the door...I was hanging out with them until showtime (and because they were about half nervous)...I mean...the bartender comes up and says, "Oh yeah by the way Banditos get in for free" .... nice!!
So Arlington here we come!!
The Album has been mastered and is en-route to ATX for us to chew it over...the mixes are sounding bad ass and can't wait to get this thing in your hands!!
So over the weekend I decided to shave my entire face ... mustache and all...I hadn't shaved that since 7th grade!!

Not quite the rough looking whiskey rock n roller you might be used to ... but still just as venomous :)
Here's another pic of Keef dancin on the bar!!

There are some other VERY VERY intriguing things going on and as soon as I can pass them along...I will.
Until then, stay thirsty my friends!!

WHEW!! Well I tell you one thing right now, it feels as if a 100lb plate was removed from my back and a little breathing room has been issued. With life you can always resort back to Football to make analogies. I played High School football in WV and must say I was the best looking QB the State of West Virginia has produced...hands down. I never said I could throw the ball or run, but damn if I wasn't pretty :) .
After going undefeated my senior season, we got accustomed to this speech from my Coach, Mr. Donnie (Football) Jackson. Donnie Football said, "Boys...enjoy this win...but come Monday we have another game to play!!"
That's how it works for me with SSP. We accomplish one thing...be it a killer gig...an endorsement...a new song...a Deadhorse in San Angelo...but one can only bask in their glory for so long...there is not time for gloating or admiring the scenery, for in the words of Joe Walsh, "They were rushing down that freeway, messed around and got lost, they didn't care they were just dying to get off!!"
So with that being said, it's time to take a deep breath and attack stage 2!! While the album is being mastered, I'm concentrating on the artwork/layout of the actual CD itself. I'm super pumped to announce we're working with BADASS Artist Billy Perkins, who has worked with: Willie Nelson, Alice in Chains, The Cult, BLS, ZZ Top and Many More…you can check out his artwork HERE.
So that's the next phase of this monster. There are a lot of other things behind the scenes, but I will keep you in the need to know group...and this my friends is all you need to know now :) .
