This is Thirteeeeeen!!!!

Alright Alright Alright...Tuesday bringing the pain. This past weekend was a blast off fo reelz!! Friday we headlined Red Eyed Fly and played to a packed house...always a good time. We debuted 2 new songs, "Middle of Nowhere" and "Liquor Roulette"...I feel they went over very well...finished out the night with "Blind in Texas" always a crowd pleaser. It's always surreal for me when we play that song, I can remember sitting in an apartment in West Virginia, I had heard that song on XM Radio and fell in love with it. I remember telling people, when I move to Austin (I had made the decision to move to Austin...just getting my shit straight)...I'm going to play that song!! So Friday night was a definite success!!

Saturday we traveled to North Houston to play Crazy Frogs...decent crowd, we're still building in that area, but you know how to get to Carnegie Hall?? That's right kiddo's...Practice!! Got home about 6am...slept until roughly 4 pm...awoke to greet the day and venture to Alligator Grill (where they filmed the movie The Office).

Now...this is where the story gets interesting...I had been talking to Keef about the new movie out, "Anvil" ... the documentary about the band, Anvil. So I went and rented it and watched it. Now I'm not going to act as if I'm an Anvil History Buff...cause I'm not, however I had heard of them. After watching the movie, I was truly impressed with the amount of dedication these guys have...over 30 years of heavy metal...and they never gave up...just flat out impressive.

So...as I'm enjoying the gumbo from Alligator Grill, I get online and to my extreme excitement I find out that Anvil is playing Austin the very next Day!! So did I go??? You bet your sweet ass I did...and it was awesome, not only did Anvil put on a killer show, from Robo's drum solo to Lips playing his guitar with...well you'll have to watch the movie...to actually getting to shake their hands and get some pictures...flat out amazing...the best Monday night I've had in a long time...

Next up for SSP, Saturday night @ Clicks in San Antonio, great bar, killer stage and Winston the Sound man loves his whiskey...should be a great night!!

Till Next Time...in the words of Lips (front man for Anvil):
"Metal on Metal...it's all that I CRAVE!!"
